These may seem like a list of amusing book titles, however they are works of art currently being exhibited by Vanilla Galleries at their Bang/Tidy Exhibition.

Where is this exhibition you may ask? The answer to that question lies within the heart of Leicester’s Malcolm Arcade (once described as an ‘Unusual Feature of the city’ by a Leicester travel board). The exhibition, which opened on March 13,will be open to the public for one month only! During this time two exhibitions will take place, one being ‘BANG’, the other ‘TIDY’. The exhibitions showcase an arsenal of artistic practices covering a wide array of concepts.

‘BANG’ which is currently showing now, and will continue until March 27 has been described as ‘Joyful experience’, ‘A cure for depression’ and 'like New York 1986' presents a number of artists work which have been specifically designed as a reaction to the space and also a celebration of Leicester culture.‘ Features include; a head floating on water, an ice sculpture melting whilst hanging from the ceiling, a film screen suspended over hairdressing chairs, and that's just downstairs!

'TIDY’ which will open from March 31, entertains us with Vanilla Galleries artist’s personal practice. In this exhibition Vanilla Galleries artists have been chosen to show their most recent work, showcasing the best of our collective talent, the prospect of this has already showed signs of interest from German film director Werner Herzog.

The exhibition is on till the second week of April and will be open from Tuesday till Saturday 11am until 5.30pm. So if you fancy experiencing an altogether uplifting exhibition or retrospective of talent that would make Sir Alex Ferguson blush, please come down to Leicester’s Malcolm Arcade between these dates.
