Two new artists have joined Newbloodart this month.

Boudicca Collins creates large-scale works that channel Jeff Koons and her own idiosyncratic wit, mixing exoticism and domesticity to comment on the British totemic worship of their pets. A self-confessed Kitschmenschen, Boudicca’s paintings often toe the line of kitsch, but there is something so sincere about them that they go beyond it. They have to be seen to be believed.

Paris Blanche Magenta Foot’s mixed media pieces are also brilliant; tactile and engaging- and quite touching. The faces of the pieces - caught somewhere between figuration, puppetry and debris – are reminiscent of the luminous faces of the films of the silent era, despite being based on personal source material culled and elevated from family photographs. Stylistically incongruent, the expressions of the figures seem sweetly unaware of what the rest of them are made up of.
