Turn that poster down!

If vibrant colourways and angular shapes just aren’t loud enough for your poster requirements, Trapped in Suburbia’s new interactive print adds another dimension to the mix: you can play it like an instrument

If vibrant colourways and angular shapes just aren’t loud enough for your poster requirements, Trapped in Suburbia‘s new interactive print adds another dimension to the mix: you can play it like an instrument…

Karin Langeveld of Trapped in Suburbia says the studio’s Sounds Poster 1.0 is its “first design in a series of ‘analogue meets digital’ experiments”.

Placing one finger on a tab at the bottom of the poster (which presumably initiates a circuit) the user then moves their other hand over the different shapes on the poster to create a series of different sounds – albeit fairly noisy, abstract ones. Performance art, you might say.

The poster will be shown at CO-LAB, an exhibition by 37 students and designers at the Academie Galerie, Utrecht, from May 3 to 25.
