To help support the charity Reporters Without Borders, Heineken has created a series of 40 posters to be sold on eBay. The posters were made by artists and illustrators as well as some more unexpected figures, such as the tennis legend Jimmy Connors. The campaign is our Ad of the Week.
Titled ‘The Legendary Posters’, the campaign is the brainchild of Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam. Many of the works of art went on quite the journey before they were completed – the Connors poster above, for example, was created via a flaming tennis match (watch this film to find out what happened), while another poster was placed into a live volcano in Iceland. Other works are more straightforward, if beautiful, pieces of art.
A selection of the posters are shown below, along with some films that showed how they were created. The full collection can be viewed online at thelegendaryposters.com, where you can also bid on the individual works of art. All monies raised will go to Reporters Without Borders.
