Ad of the Week: TfL, Attention! Le Tour De France

We’ve been beguiled by the clever digital posters that have been springing up of late, but this week a new campaign for Transport for London showed that print still has its place in the billboard arena too. Created by M&C Saatchi to promote the forthcoming arrival of the Tour de France in London, the campaign is our Ad of the Week.

M&C Saatchi and TfL have been producing some lovely artwork together recently, including these delightful Travel Better London posters by McBess, and these bold prints by Jean Jullien. While it might be a little premature to call this a return to Frank Pick-era commissioning, it is great to see London’s transport system sporting such vibrant and interesting illustration. These new posters are in a similiar vein: designed to raise awareness of the travel disruption that may be caused by the Tour passing through the city, they are simple, bold and eyecatching. Nice work.
