Though still rooted in the same colour palette we were less concerned about everything having to be out of a black page,” says amv.bbdo art director Paul Cohen of the second installment of new-look Economist ads. “The last set felt very graphic, this time I wanted to bring in a more traditional ‘illustrative’ style to run alongside the more graphic executions. As a result I think the campaign feels broader and opens things up for the future.”
The illustrators used this time are Anthony Burrill for Perspective and Rubbish, Paul Davis for Oyster and Cloud-Cuckoo-land and Non-Format for Balance.
