The Do Lectures is an inspirational weeked of talks set up by the people behind Howies. For those who can’t get to the event, Do have been screening the talks for free online, the costs of which they now hope to cover from sales of original prints
“The business model of giving the talks away for free means we have to find ways to pay for ‘free’,” says Do and Howies co-founder David Hieatt. “One way is to sell posters that illustrators/artists/writers do for us. So we came up with the Art Pays For Free idea. Ten posters per year and a small exhibition at the end of each year at The Do lectures.”
Each poster is intended to carry a positive message in line with the spirit of the vent. Anthony Burrill did the first poster one (shown above). The second, by Andy Smith (shown top), is now out, in a signed edition of 150 at A1 size.
