Bridgeman Studio Award 2016
Once again, we are delighted to be partnering on the Bridgeman Studio Award. This year’s prize is a £1,000 book cover commission
This is the third year of the Bridgeman Studio Award which aims to uncover and celebrate new contemporary artists worldwide.
The grand prize this year is a £1,000 commission to illustrate the cover image for the next book by Rosie Garland, published by The Borough Press, an imprint of HarperCollins.
To enter, all you have to do is submit images on the theme of ‘night’. You can enter up to five new or pre-existing images.
Judges will be looking for entries which sum up aspects of the night. Go outside and let your imagination run wild. What does the night mean to you? From a literal to abstract representation, we’re looking for fresh perspectives.
Judges include Rosie Garland (author), Claire Ward (Creative Director HarperCollins Fiction & Non fiction), Suzie Doore (Publishing Director, Borough Press), Victoria Bridgeman (CEO – Bridgeman Images, leading rights managed supplier of art, culture and historical images and footage), Patrick Burgoyne (Editor – Creative Review) and Lucy Baxter (Commercial Director – CultureLabel.com).
The winner of the Bridgeman Studio Award 2016 will then be given the brief to create the base art for the cover of Rosie Garland’s next novel. The artist will not be expected to create the typography and layout. Three runners-up will each receive a £50 CultureLabel voucher and a selection of books from HarperCollins.
Competition ends June 30 2016
