It’s degree show season, which means that, once again, everyone here at CR will be getting round as many shows as possible in our search for the most exciting new talent emerging from universities this year in our Talentspotting programme. If you are planning on going to the shows yourself, check out our handy guide here plus find out how you can show us your work

In previous years, we have enlisted the help of CR’s readership in reviewing the degree shows. This year we want to try something different: over the next two months we will be showcasing the work of selected graduates from the class of 2015 who we think have a bright future. But we’d still like your help. If you have been to a show and spotted someone great, please either give us their details in the comments below or email CR editor Patrick Burgoyne on patrick.burgoyne@centaur.co.uk

And, graduates, if you think you’ve got what it takes to feature in our pick of new talent, send us links and your details in the same way. Tutors can also draw our attention to their star students.

Below we’ve listed some of the upcoming shows. If your course or university is not listed, please add the details in the comments section.

More from CR

The design of Spare Rib

As the British Library makes the entire archive of women’s magazine Spare Rib available online, we republish co-founder Marsha Rowe’s article on how the original design of the publication came about – from its tissue paper logo to the ground-breaking image used on the first issue’s front cover

Further thoughts on a flag for the ‘former’ United Kingdom

Last September, Scotland decided to remain part of the United Kingdom, but with the SNP’s significant presence in Westminster, Scottish independence is still firmly on the political agenda. Quentin Newark follows up his previous post on what the UK flag might look like should Scotland eventually become a separate nation and, in light of what other nations have done, looks at some more design ideas

Ads of the Week

YouTube is 10. It’s slightly hard to believe that the website that has proved so revolutionary to so many industries has only just reached double figures, but it’s certainly a birthday worth celebrating. And a new film from directors Hoku & Adam does it in style, with an animated A to Z of the channel’s biggest moments. The film opens this week’s round up of great new ads.

Wordplay: typographic installations from Monotype

A series of typographic installations were unveiled in Clerkenwell this week, courtesy of Monotype and Clerkenwell Design Week. Lettering-based artworks include a wooden bench sculpted in the shape of Neue Haas Unica, an anamorphic mural in Clarendon and a lovely use of Festival of Britain typeface Festival Titling.
