Make Works is an open access, local manufacturing platform which started in Glasgow in 2012. The project connects designers, artists and consumers with their own means of production; supporting people to make and fix things for themselves. Scott started Make Works as a result of being frustrated at not knowing where to get things made. She has since visited, interviewed, filmed and photographed over 200 manufacturers, material suppliers and workshop facilities in Scotland, sharing these findings with others via the Make Works platform. Make Works has now opened up the project so that groups in other locations can start or run projects for themselves. The first of these was piloted in Birmingham, which launched in 2016.
