If the indie magazine movement has a spiritual home it is the magCulture shop in London. Here, the shelves bulge with all manner of passion projects, while regular magCulture Meets lectures and launches bring together the mag-making community. A magazine art director all his working life, Jeremy Leslie’s passion for print first found voice in a blog, which grew into the multiplatform magCulture project of today. As well as the store and his editorial design consultancy, Leslie runs the Modern Magazine conference plus the magCulture Boxset, a subscription service delivering a selection of five independent magazines per month to users.
