Jude Kelly has been Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre, the UK’s largest cultural institution, since 2006. But she is no mere administrator. Kelly has directed more than 100 theatre and opera productions from The Royal Shakespeare Company to the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and founded several major arts organisations, including Battersea Arts Centre and West Yorkshire Playhouse. In 2012 she was responsible for developing the Cultural Strategy for London’s Olympic and Paralympic Games, and in 2011 she founded the WOW – Women of the World – festival which has become a global platform for celebrating the potential of girls and women on every continent.
