The rise of social media platforms has seen the emergence of new roles within those organisations to help creatives and brands get the best out of what they have to offer. As the likes of Facebook constantly develop new tools and formats for advertisers, in-house teams work closely with agencies and clients to maximize opportunities.

After running a number of global brands across Unilever, Diageo and Coca-Cola, Rob Newlan joined Facebook six years ago to set up its Creative Shop across the EMEA region. There he has built a team of creative directors, planners, producers and data scientists who partner with brands, big and small, to help bring to life creative ideas across all of Facebook’s family of apps and services.

Newlan also spends much of his time traveling around the region to promote and explain the opportunities for crafting great work for mobile feeds, speaking at industry events and serving as a jury member at major awards shows.

He is a member of the D&AD Foundation Council and an advisor to the Tate.
