There has been plenty of discussion, ideas and pledges made regarding DEI in the creative industries in recent years, but questions remain about whether the worlds of advertising and design are really becoming more inclusive, and whether the many words that have been spoken on this have led to any real action.

In an atmosphere where diversity schemes are being drawn into political culture wars, and some of the roles that were introduced to help deliver progress are disappearing from the industry, this seems an opportune moment to examine where we are, and what else needs to change.

To discuss this on Creativity Sucks!, we have brought together three brilliant guests: Lameya Chaudhury, head of social impact and client partner at Lucky Generals; Ravi Amaratunga Hitchcock, co-founder of creative agency Soursop in Amsterdam; and Anoushka Khandwala, a designer, writer and educator based in London.

Hosted by CR editor Eliza Williams, this podcast episode reflects on the past few years in DEI, and explores what has been working, and, crucially, what hasn’t. You can listen to the episode below, or wherever you get your podcasts. We hope this one will spark off a wider conversation in the industry, so if you enjoy it, please share.
