Babette Pauthier has directed an animated short for Alexander McQueen that features a kaleidoscopic array of insect-like imagery created from different fabric patterns…

The film, God Save McQueen, references the manipulated still life photography that Pauthier has created for the McQueen label, which can be seen here, and conjures up shimmering images of butterflies, skeletal faces and tribal masks. Pauthier was approached to shoot McQueen’s latest scarf collection, images of which are also on Facebook, here.

Born in Paris, Pauthier has worked in London since 2003 and works largely in photography and film across fashion, portraiture and landscape projects. She is also a regular contributor to A+Studio.
