If You Could Get Involved with Build…

Build has just designed this poster that ties two events happening next Thursday 5th July together: If You Could exhibition and monthly clubnight Get Involved. The idea is quite simple: anyone can get involved and doodle, draw or write on the poster. Also shown above are returned posters by Jeremyville, Jon Burgerman and Mr Bingo. If you fancy a go – simply read on to find out how…

Build Get Involved poster gif

If you could do anything tomorrow what would it be? That is the question to which a host of established and emerging creative talent has responded – for an exhibition that launches in exposure Gallery (22-23 Little Portland Street, London W1) on Thursday 5 July. See www.ifyoucould.co.uk for full details.

The launch of the exhibition has been tied in with regular monthly musical shindig Get Involved (which will provide music at the exhibition launch and also host the post-launch party across the road from exposure in The Social) in the form of a poster, designed by studio Build that asks “If you could… draw/write your message below, what would you do? Get involved!” – the idea being that creative types can literally get involved with the poster.

If you’d like the ‘blank’ file to get involved with, pls email gavin.lucas@centaur.co.uk and ask for the PDF. We’d love to see the results of your work so email back your posters when you’ve worked your magic. Together with Build, we will pick our favourite submissions which will appear here on the CR blog and also in printed form in The Social next Thursday (5th July) at Get Involved.

Shown above are the first four returned posters – by Jeremyville, Jon Burgerman and Mr Bingo. Don’t be shy: GET INVOLVED!

Build’s Get Involved poster, returned

Karl Escritt’s poster
When Build designed a poster for monthly musical shindig Get Involved that invited people to quite literally get involved – with the poster – he probably never expected he’d get to see the results of other peoples’ involvement. However, thanks to the combined power of blog post + myspace bulletin, dozens of you requested the “blank” file in order to get stuck in. Here are the 40+ posters that have been returned to us so far. Please be patient as it will take a little while for the full post to arrive on your screen. And get your scrolling finger warmed up…

Fresh off the Factory Floor

Behold, the FAC51-Y3. No, it’s not a late addition to the musical catalogue of Mancunian record label Factory Records, clearly, but a highly limited trainer from Y-3 (the brand created by adidas and Yohji Yamamoto), devised especially to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of legendary Manchester nightclub The Haçienda. The shoe’s design is a collaboration between Peter Saville (the original Factory Records graphic designer), Ben Kelly (the architect who designed the original Haçienda interiors) and Joy Division/New Order bass player, Peter Hook…
