With this set of beguiling and unusual images, Felicity Crawshaw documents Into the Mountain, a project created by artist and choreographer Simone Kenyon, and developed over several years in collaboration with women living and working within the Cairngorms mountain range in Scotland.

Inspired and informed by Nan Shepherd’s book, The Living Mountain, the project explores and celebrates women’s connection with mountainous and wild environments, addressing both historical and current perspectives of gender in relation to the Scottish landscape.
