For Mental Health Awareness Week, ITV launched the next stage in its already celebrated Britain Get Talking campaign. Voices Against Loneliness encouraged the nation to reach out to friends and family members who might be struggling with loneliness, as research shows that just hearing someone’s voice can reduce stress and anxiety.

Supported by Mind and YoungMinds, ITV flooded London with voice notes from ITV talent, demonstrating how anyone can be affected by loneliness and that anyone can help. The voice notes were placed via barcode stickers, which the public could scan on their phones, in locations aimed to catch people when they might have a moment to reach out, such as in cabs, on pizza boxes, and on beermats in pubs.

The voice notes also directed users to a webpage containing tips about connecting with others, and information on how to reach out to Mind and YoungMinds for those who need it.
