Throughout its 21-year history Mother ad agency has created personal projects alongside its commercial work. As a retrospective exhibition opens at Old Central St Martins in London, we talk to co-founder Mark Waites about what this work means to Mother

When Mother opened its doors in the late 90s, it quickly established a reputation for being cheeky, irreverent and very different to the established London advertising scene, where having your name above the door of your agency was at the time still de rigueur.

Why am I being asked to register with CR?
