Here’s our latest round-up of great ad work from around the world. Unsurprisingly, some of it has an Olympics flavour: first up, some new print work from Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam for Powerade….

The ads form part of the Powerade ‘Power Through’ campaign, which includes both TV and print work. A selection of the posters are shown below, along with the main TV spot (which aired on YouTube in March).

Agency: Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam; ECDs: Mark Bernath, Eric Quennoy; Creative directors: Alvaro Sotomayor, Rosie Bardales; Creatives: Mike Bond, Bern Hunter; Photographer (Print): John Huet; Director (TV): Emmanuel ‘Chivo’ Lubeski; Production company (TV): Park Pictures.

P&G’s latest Olympics spot is up next. Continuing the ‘Thank You Mom’ campaign, the ad shows how athletes will always be kids in their mothers’ eyes. Agency: Wieden + Kennedy Portland. Creative directors: Danielle Flagg, Karl Lieberman; Creatives: Laddie Peterson, James Moslander; Director: Daniel Kleinman; Production company: Epoch Films.

Sticking with sport, here’s a new documentary short created for Jordan, which tells the story of an all-female basketball team in Iraq. The film is one of four new shorts created as part of the ‘Rise Above’ campaign by digital agency Blast Radius.

VW has released a series of online films (two shown above), which see various speedy individuals (including a speed Rubik’s Cuber and beatboxer) pit their talents against VW cars to see who is faster. Agency: Deutsch LA; Creative team: Mark Hunter, Jerome Austria, Matt Ian, Michael Kadin, Scott Clark, Donna Ho, Kate O’Connor; Production company: Recommended Media.

Fred & Farid Paris has created this sweet and unusual spot to advertise the new rollerblade collection from French company Oxelo. Creatives: Laurent Toth, Marc Badinand; Director: Nan; Production company: Soixante Quinze.

Fold7 is behind this spot for Carlsberg, which spoofs The Great Escape. Instead of escaping prison though, the spot sees a group of lads use their skills to bring beer into a spa. Creative directors: Ryan Newey, John Yorke; Director: Peter Lydon; Production company: 76 Ltd; Post production: Munky

Greenpeace’s latest film aims to raise awareness of the plight of the Arctic polar bears, with a new film that sees a bear wandering homeless around a city. Director: Michael Geoghegan; Production company: Partizan.

We finish this week’s round-up with a typically bonkers spot for Skittles, this time featuring a bit of human-on-walrus loving. Don’t try this at home, folks. Agency: DDB Chicago; Creatives: Kevin Goff, Blake Winfree; Production company: Moxie Pictures; Director: Martin Granger.
