Editorial: The Plant Magazine

The art of topiary is at the heart of Agnes Lloyd-Platt’s editorial for issue 17 of the Plant Magazine, which she worked on in collaboration with set designer Gemma Tickle and stylist Nathan Klein.

The hedges that appear in the images have been pruned into large, elegant forms, like towering chess pieces. These structures are mirrored in the models’ strong, often dramatic silhouettes, which are emphasised by Lloyd-Platt’s use of light and shadow. The photo story, which includes a number of intricate still-life images of plants, evokes the bond between humans and the natural world.
