Dutch photographer Ton Grote’s mother died in 2007, leaving his father behind in the home – Eindhovenseweg 56 – where his parents had lived since 1969.

His father started to clear out the house, unearthing a vast array of items and artefacts. Things like old teapots, cameras, power strips, glasses and a dilapidated old football were more than just objects, they became relics of Grote’s childhood.

Having photographed and documented everything, Grote created an extensive archive of more than 5,000 images. The book, Eindhovenseweg 56, draws together 2,262 of these, billed as a “spurensicherung of real and fictional events”.
