Oh dear. The recently dropped bombshell that 77 million PlayStation owners might have had their credit card details stolen by cyber hackers has somewhat overshadowed a rather nice graphic art project the brand just launched in collaboration with Studio Output…
Only a couple of weeks ago, Sony, in collaboration with Studio Output, launched The Studio – a new digital art service accessible via PlayStation devices through the very same PlayStation Network through which those pesky cyber hackers struck.
The idea is quite simple: The Studio is curating a growing collection of digital artworks – both static and dynamic – created by the likes of Anthony Burrill, Mr Bingo, eBoy, Tomato, Jon Burgerman and more – which users can purchase and download as the wallpaper or “theme” that forms the backdrop to the various menu options users see when they switch on their PlayStation devices.
The above video shows some of the work currently available, should you feel brave enough to want to plug yourself into the PlayStation Network at the moment. Some cracking work in there. Find out more at uk.playstation.com/thestudio
