Saree is a collaboration between photographer Emily Stein and her sister, filmmaker Alice Stein, and seeks to celebrate the historical garment of the saree and the multi-generational women who wear it today. The range of diverse women cast for this series shows how the garment is worn by all ages and in different ways.

Stylist Janine Eveson worked in collaboration with the women to create a fresh and fun approach, experimenting with bold patterns and textures. The Stein sisters also interviewed the women cast within the series about what the saree represents to them personally, its history and how it feels to wear this garment in 2019.
