Squarespace Designed to Sell

Squarespace’s new campaign celebrates the power of design

Led by the brand’s in-house creative team, the ad shows why a creatively thought-out website is quite literally “designed to sell”

While the world of website building isn’t seen as the sexiest, by investing in design and storytelling Squarespace has become an unlikely hotbed of creativity in recent years. The tech brand’s creative output is led by its 60-strong creative department (under the guidance of CCO David Lee), which leads on campaign concepts, brand platforms, production, and more.

The brand’s latest campaign, Designed to Sell, shows how entrepreneurs can stand out online by showcasing the endless possibilities of websites, covering services such as appointments through to building communities.

The ad is aligned with insights from a 2022 survey commissioned by Squarespace, which found that 62% of Brits are more likely to shop in-person at a local business that has a well-designed website. A further 67% of Brits also said they found websites that are well-designed to be more trustworthy.

The heavily art-directed spot highlights the importance of design through a series of ‘living’ websites that come together to tell one story – from high-end landscaping services through to 3D nail art, gorpcore fashion, and even self-defence classes.
