Mimosa is, like, so this year. In 2010, Pantone tell us, turquoise is going to be everywhere…

Pantone 15-5519 TCX to be exact, combines “the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green,” say Pantone. “Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world,” they claim, “while at the same time restoring our sense of well-being.”

Pantone’s Helmut Eifert asserts that turquoise “is believed to be a protective talisman, a colour of deep compassion and healing, and a colour of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of colour word-association studies, we also find that turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.”

Must… book… Mediterranean… cruise….

Going by the rather lacklustre showing of mimosa in the CR office this year, however, we’re not quite sure if we’re ready to rock the maritime look just yet. You never know though….
