The Dooman by Charlotte Elcock

Honourable Mention: Student

For this project, Glasgow School of Art student Charlotte Elcock documented one of the city’s dooman, or pigeon-fanciers. “I first met 67-year-old Allan Dickie at the last dooshop in Glasgow, aptly named Pigeon and Pet Supplies,” she says. “During our second meeting at his home, he offered me a small insight into the illusive, closed community of the doomen and opened my eyes to what is ostensibly a bizarre hobby and competitive sport.”
