The New York Times is dedicated to innovating in print; as part of this mission, the New York Times Mag Labs produces singular, visually driven, print-only broadsheet sections.

Since their inception in 2016, these sections have become an anticipated feature of the Sunday paper. In 2019, the newspaper published a handful of these sections to surprise and delight readers: six special issues were published on a number of topics, each with its own powerful visual approach.
