Vimeo Award Winners 2012

The 2012 Vimeo Awards ceremony was held last night in New York, with 13 winning films announced, chosen from over 14,000 entries. The winner of the Grand Prize was Symmetry, a sweet film directed by Everynone, which looks at moments of harmony in life, from the predictable to the unexpected.

The 2012 Vimeo Awards ceremony was held last night in New York, with 13 winning films announced, chosen from over 14,000 entries. The winner of the Grand Prize was Symmetry, a sweet film directed by Everynone, which looks at moments of harmony in life, from the predictable to the unexpected.

Everynone also picked up the award in the Lyrical category for Symmetry, which is shown above. The other 12 winners are shown below; these were picked by panels of three judges per category. Among the judges this year were actor/director/general polymath James Franco, director Edgar Wright, Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood, and MoMA’s Barbara London. For a full list of judges, see here.

All category winners received grants of $5,000, while the Grand Prize Winner received an additional grant of $25,000. The Vimeo Awards are followed by the Vimeo Festival, which takes place today and tomorrow in New York, where a range of industry luminaries will be speaking.
