NB Studio designed an “ever-changing logo” for Off-Broadway venue Vineyard Theatre, which pioneers groundbreaking shows – many of which have transferred to Broadway following their run at Vineyard. In NB Studio’s identity, the Vineyard wordmark remains consistent while Theatre is reimagined for every new production, adopting a range of type styles that express the spirit of each show.

“Conventional wisdom tells us brands ought to be consistent,” says NB Studio founder Nick Finney. “Our identity for Vineyard delights in breaking boundaries – just like the theatre it represents.”

The new identity is firmly rooted in Vineyard’s home city, with every single piece of type created by a New Yorker, and the main logo typeface paying homage to the Franklin Gothic type family. Vineyard’s adaptable brand has room for the theatre to collaborate with more local designers in the future.
