what3words: Neighbours commercial direction

Category: Directing; Entrant: Neverland

The technology behind what3words has divided the world into a grid of three-metre squares and labelled each one with a unique combination of words, making it easy to share your location without elaborate descriptions. The tech has most commonly been seen as being useful in emergency situations, but the brand wanted to expand its perception to being handy in the everyday.

This witty ad campaign, directed by Tom Speers, was the answer. Featuring an everyday scene of peril set in suburbia, it shows a battle of wills between a polite young man and his genteel elderly neighbour after his post has been misdelivered – a situation that could have been easily avoided had he supplied the courier with his what3words address.
