Don’t Shoot the Messenger

Exhibition of work from sixteen designers and design offices from across Europe, exploring the contemporary challenges of graphic design and where the industry might be heading, sighting the designer as the ‘messenger’ whose role is being redefined as the field expands and transforms.

New show from Felt Mistress (aka Louise Evans) and partner/collaborator Jonathan Edwards, with hand-crafted creatures, made from vintage fabrics, huddled in stairwells and suspended from ceilings around the building. Evan’s characters include a snow queen, a woodland guru and a 9ft a huggable yeti, inspired by Edwards illustrations, in watercolour, acrylic and ink, which will also be on show – work that regularly features in the Guardian and appears on the covers of albums from artists including the Jungle Brothers and the Black Eyed Peas.

Exhibition showcasing local design and illustration work from artists who were invited to respond to the local area and the ‘uniqueness of ordinary life’, to produce work of any medium in A3 size. All proceeds from the event will go to local charity Wood Street Mission.
