Wood and Wood collaborate on poetry book

Art director Graham Wood has collaborated with his namesake, artist and poet Paul, to create 360 Degrees, a visually rich book of the latter’s poetry

Paul Wood’s artistic practice centres on writing, particularly amusing poetry reflecting on everyday items and life situations such as washing machines and supermarkets.

“I was introduced to Graham Wood’s work when I read his latest book Memory is the Medium. I noticed the correlation between the geometric abstract designs that appeared in my artworks and Graham’s use of circles in his work,” he says.

The two have collaborated to create 360 Degrees, a collection of Wood’s poems illustrated with Wood’s circular imagery. The book was produced by Tracy Stokes who was previously Head of TV at ad agency Fallon and Joint Head of TV at TBWA. She now runs her own production business, Like Minded Individuals.

“It was great to have the opportunity to put together Paul Wood’s poetry along with Graham Wood’s design,” she says. “To me, there just seemed to be a natural pairing in their work, a mutual empathy. I saw that the tone and feel belonged in the same world and it was a joy to work with them both in being able to create this. It’s been a different process for me from my usual productions and one which I’ve very much enjoyed I must say.”
