WORK: Gorillaz return with brilliant new video

This six-minute long animated film gives audiences their first proper taste of what to expect from the band’s new album, Humanz

Gorillaz, everyone’s favourite virtual band, are back. This six-minute long animated film, directed, as you might expect, by Gorillaz artist Jamie Hewlett, gives audiences their first proper taste of what to expect from the band’s new album, Humanz, out in late April (there was a rushed-out promo to accompany track Hallelujah Money featuring Benjamin Clementine, released to coincide with Trump’s inauguration in January, but this is the first piece of proper, polished content for this album).

Four tracks from Humanz make an appearance in the film – Saturnz Barz (featuring Popcaan) is there in full, alongside highlights of Ascension (featuring Vince Staples), Andromeda (featuring D.R.A.M. 8) and We Got The Power (featuring Jehnny Beth). And, and if you like a bit of 360 interaction with your promos, you can also watch the video in VR here.

Plus stay tuned for an interview with Gorillaz on the new album art, which will appear in the May issue of Creative Review.
