WORK: Martin Parr directs new BBC One idents

Renowned photographer Martin Parr has directed a new set of BBC One channel idents, which feature groups of Britons engaging in their favourite hobbies, from open water swimming to wheelchair rugby to Zumba. The new idents, commissioned by BBC Creative, replace the ‘circle’ clips that have featured on the channel for a decade.

The collaboration with Parr will continue over the year, with new clips appearing in the coming months. “Renowned for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, I hope that the series of images Parr captures across the year will document everyday Britain in all its glory and serve as a fascinating and lasting record of 2017,” says Charlotte Moore, director of BBC Content.
