WORK: New book documents the varied landscape of Queens, New York

Landscape as Longing: Queens, New York is a new book by photographers Frank Gohlke and Joel Sternfeld (and featuring an intro by author Suketu Mehta) which documents life in Queens as it was in 2003-04. The images capture the complexity of the New York borough, from its incredible signage to its streets, houses and waste spaces. A fascinating study of an area that features one of the densest concentrations of ethnic diversity in the world. Published by Steidl Books, priced €65, steidl.de
