WORK: The New York Times muses on ‘truth’ in new ad campaign

As the world wrestles with the problems of ‘fake news’ and ‘alternative facts’, The New York Times has addressed the issues head on in a new ad campaign, its first in a decade. The spot tackles the cacophony of versions of the ‘truth’ that we are assailed with each day, while attempting to assert the newspaper as a voice of authority, which can be trusted. Created by Droga5 New York, it will run on TV in the US during the Oscars, and is also accompanied by poster, print, digital and social ads.

The campaign follows last week’s philosophical campaign from The Atlantic, starring Michael K Williams and from Wieden + Kennedy New York, which also encourages us to keep on questioning.
