WORK: David Jones poetry and selected letters reissues from Faber

Faber has republished four works by the modernist poet, engraver and painter, David Jones. Three of the covers feature Jones’ own handwritten type while the edition of Dai Greatcoat uses a design originally conceived by Faber art director Berthold Wolpe. The books precede a new edition of Jones’ epic First World War poem, In Parenthesis, which will be published early next year and appear at a time where there is considerable re-interest in the poet’s work, thanks in part to the publication of a new biography (some thirty years in the making) by Thomas Dilworth.

Dai Greatcoat (1980), Epoch and Artist (1959), The Dying Gaul (1978) and The Sleeping Lord (1974) are published by Faber. See faber.co.uk
