WORK: Stylish title sequence for the BBC’s SS-GB series by Framestore

SS-GB, BBC One’s new adaptation of Len Deighton’s 1978 novel, began airing last Sunday. The thriller reimagines life in London in the early 1940s under Nazi occupation and Framestore and production company Sid Gentle Films has created this title sequence to accompany the series. Directed by Framestore’s William Bartlett, who has previously been VFX Supervisor on the recent James Bond movie titles (directed by Daniel Kleinman), the sequence uses a distinctive shadow effect to stylishly reference a number of the motives and allegiances at play in the show’s narrative.
