Mailchimp: Wink System design

Wink System is an all-in-one space offering designers, strategists, developers and marketers within Mailchimp the tools, resources and guidelines to deliver a cohesive Mailchimp experience.

The in-house team was tasked with introducing people across the company to the platform, via the concept of “the best class you’ve ever taken”. Adopting an “information-focused direction” and monochromatic style, the team decided to decorate the site with colourful stickers, in a nod to personalising textbooks as schoolkids.

The team sifted through Slack, emails, Google Drive and Dropbox to gather all source materials that had been created at Mailchimp over the past five years, resulting in an audit of more than 188 pieces of guidance. This resulted in 70+ guidance pages on the Wink System site, which features consistent design throughout so that it’s easy for users to find what they are looking for.
